Def Poetry Jam alum Dahlak Brathwaite’s hip hop theatre meditation on drug policy, racial profiling, and human imperfection. Spiritrials, based on Mr. Brathwaite’s personal experience of attending a court-mandated rehab program after being arrested, flows seamlessly between rap, song, and storytelling, accompanied by beats and samples spun live from the turntable by DJ Dion Decibels. Experience Mr. Brathwaite’s virtuosic and fiercely original creation, co-directed by Marc Bamuthi Joseph with lush projections by Joan Osato.

Plus: Mr. Brathwaite will perform his family-friendly Hip Hop History for Kids in a special one-time matinee performance on Sunday April 23, 2pm. Age recommendation 7 and up.
