Giving Opportunities

Disjecta depends on contributions from individuals, foundations, corporations, government agencies and rental fees. Most of our staffing needs are filled by volunteers and interns. Your donation directly supports the artists we work with, our mission and operations.

Visual arts exhibitions that Disjecta presents are free and open to the public.

Support can come in the following ways:

Cash Donation

A gift of cash is the simplest and most popular way of supporting Disjecta.
Click on our donate link or send a check payable to: Disjecta Contemporary Art Center, 8371 N Interstate Avenue, Portland, OR 97217-6716

We have some incredible visual and performing arts, so we also have an incredible amount of work to do to prepare and run these events and exhibitions. Volunteers will work alongside staff members and fill crucial roles by staffing events, assisting with space preparations and helping artists install their work. Volunteers can earn tickets to events in exchange for their work. If you would like to add your name to our volunteer mailing list and find out about upcoming opportunities, please email us.

Matching Gifts

Looking for a way you could double, or even triple, your contribution to Disjecta? Many employers have a corporate matching gifts program to support their employees and retirees personal philanthropic efforts. Check with your Human Resources department to see if your company participates in matching charitable gifts, and request a form. Send us the form, and we will take care of everything from there! This is an easy way to increase the impact of your generous contribution at no additional cost to you.

Gifts of Securities

Many people find that donating stocks, bonds or shares in mutual funds can lead to a gift much larger than they thought they could give with favorable tax benefits. A gift of securities should be discussed with your financial advisor.

Corporate Sponsorships and Underwriting

Please inquire about sponsorship opportunities.

Bequests are gifts made by will. Whether you wish to provide general operating income or to support a specific program, your bequest expresses your lasting commitment to the cultural landscape of the Pacific Northwest. While your estate plan will be prepared by your attorney in consultation with your tax and financial advisors, we would be pleased to discuss any of the various giving opportunities with you.

Disjecta interns work within specific organizational departments to plan and implement programming, outreach, operations and other aspects of non-profit management. We expect each intern to identify and carry out an independent project, in addition to assisting staff with general duties. In order to provide meaningful projects and experiences, we ask for a minimum time commitment of 20 hours per week for 8 - 12 weeks. Disjecta does not provide housing, travel, or monetary compensation for interns. To apply for an internship, please send your resume with a cover letter stating the dates and times you would be available, and in which area you would be most interested working. We will match your schedule and interests to a Disjecta staff member and arrange for an interview. Please email your application, or send a hard copy to:
