Project Description

DUG x Disjecta 2

Curated and Produced by Dug Collective
April 22nd, 7pm–11:30pm

DUG (Deep Under Ground) is an arts platform and collective of local artists with a passion for showcasing visual and performance artists. DUG’s second event at Disjecta will feature the best live and local music artists sprouting directly from the underground arts scene here in PDX. DUG Collective has been hosting events monthly since January of 2015 and now holds monthly open mic sessions at places like In Other Words Bookstore, and Service, as well as producing quarterly events at Disjecta. The collective includes curator and founder Mia O’Connor, co-curators, project/outreach managers, collaborators & consultants: Madenna Ibrahim, Janessa Narciso, Vincent Magee, Mulu Habtemariam, and Cristovu Garcia, and many more. Dug is a collective of  Portland natives actively contributing to the development of the community.

DUG events are geared to provide a healthy and safe environment that will unite the surrounding artistic community with different cultures and views here in Portland. DUG serves a multitude of purposes–from networking, to performance opportunities and artist promotion. This platform encourages people to feel welcomed in a community looking to support them on their way to artistic freedom & success.
