Artist: Kickstarter for Creatives | Curator: Hosted by Disjecta and co-organized by independent curator Elizabeth Spavento.
September 17th, 2012

Join us as we explore Kickstarter, the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects.

Kickstarter’s own Stephanie Pereira leads off the evening with a presentation on how to bring your project to life. Learn how to structure a project, what kind of rewards work best, and other helpful tips and valuable stats. Stephanie welcomes questions as we take a more detailed look at the anatomy of a successful project.

Kickstarter is the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects. Every week, tens of thousands of people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of music, film, art, technology, design, games, fashion, food, publishing, and other creative fields. Since April 2009, more than two million people have pledged more than $300 million to projects by creators who always maintain full ownership and complete creative control of their work. Join Kickstarter art program director Stephanie Pereira for a primer on how to bring a Kickstarter project to life. Deep dive into a case study of a successful project and learn how to structure a campaign, what kind of rewards work best, how to spread the word, and other helpful tips.

7–9 pm The workshop will last one hour and be followed by a social hour with cash bar, and light snacks.
